SaniSport Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How many times a year do you think the gear needs cleaning?

A: It depends on how often you use your gear, how often you dry it out and if you use full length pants and undershirts with moisture wicking under your gear. I would recommend two to three times a season. Once in November, Once in February and again at the end of the season before the equipment is put away.

Q: What is included, under armour as well, top to bottom all gear?

A: All equipment goes in. Any clothing items (underwear, jerseys, socks etc.) should be washed in the washing machine

Q: Can you do it a la carte?

A: Sure. Call or text for an appointment (289-812-0128 ).

Q: Can you clean and disinfect helmets with the sani machine?

A: Yes. All equipment goes in the machine.

Q: Is the hockey bag cleaned as well.

A: Yes. The bag is put in the machine as well.

Q: What would be the time frame from drop off to pickup?

A: Most of the time it can be a drop off and pick up the next morning. The process takes 20 minutes so you could wait as well. Call or text first to arrange a time.

Q: Do you have online appointments?

A: Call or text 289-812-0128

Q: I would like to know how long (approx) items will be “stench” free.

A: It depends on how often you use your gear, how often you dry it out and if you use full length pants and undershirts under your equipment.

Q: Would there be options for doing less than a full set of equipment (ie gloves and skates.. I could see doing those more frequently)?

A: Not at this time. The machine can fit an entire set of equipment, and bacteria finds its way on all equipment. You may as well sanitize the entire set of equipment.

Q: What is the drying time?

A: The process is completely ‘dry’. Water or other liquid disinfectants are not used. The process is a combination of ozone and pressure to kill bacteria and viruses.

Q: Are you offering this service year round? .

A: Yes. It works great for other types of sporting equipment. Lacrosse gear is especially nasty and the SaniSport works great. Football gear as well.

Q: Would it clean a guy’s hockey equipment that has never been cleaned in 10 years?.

A: I used it on my personal equipment and some gear is quite old and it worked well. Your equipment may have to be done multiple times in quick succession but even after the first time it did help with the odour.

Q: Is the cost the same for all types of equipment.

A: Yes. The cost is based on one load in the machine
